2024 Alaska Road Trip (Day 35)
This journal posting chronicles Day 35 of a road trip to Alaska and back with Diane, Kenny and Deneen.
Day 35 - Saturday July 27th
Today was our fourth and final full day staying at Williwaw Campground near Whittier, AK.
After breakfast at John and Pat’s rental house, we drove to Anchorage to explore the town. Deneen had picked up a self guided walking tour app for Anchorage and we followed it to see various sites.
One of the coolest statues in town was this blue bear.
Sometimes the clues on what to look for were not obvious, but we ended up finding everything.
This humpback whale was cool with the rings around the tail representing ripples in the water.
And of course Diane can not help but take more flower photos.
Resolution Park talked about Captain Cook and his exploration of Cook Inlet.
A group photo, minus Deneen who took the photo.
Kenny was not the only bear in town.
After we finished the tour we tried some of the local beer.
We stopped by a grocery store on the way back to the rental house and John and Pat cooked us Pork Chops, Cheesy Hash Browns and a Caesar salad for dinner.
